Layout Options
Consider your Layout Options

Layout Options - Think about boxes
When looking at your layout, consider the above iterations of screen layouts. Typically you will choose a model that has a header and a footer. Optionally, you might have a left or right panel, or both, for additional navigation options or menus.
Left and Right panels can equally be used as areas for highlighting news, displaying images (such as a photo gallery) or other objects such as a calendar.
Layout Options - Fixed, Elastic or Full Width
The other option is to look at how your boxes above are aligned on screen.
- Fixed - No matter how big the users monitor is, the website appears as a fixed area in the centre of the screen. This is our preferred option as it provides us a way to garauntee what the web site is going to look like
- Elastic - Elastic designs stretch and shrink to match the size of the users monitor. Typically we set a maximum and minimum width
- Full Width - This format is typically used when you have a large amount of information to display and require maximum available space. This is not often used these days unless your type of site demands it. A fixed or elastic solution allows us to be a little more creative with the background imagery that help define depth and realism to your site
